Let's talk mental health

I figure it's 2022, and it's time to use my voice to advocate for changes to mental health services & the stigma around mental health.

With #letstalk day coming on Jan. 26, I always found it a trigger as it's an endless lip service and I have no idea what Bell even does with the fund raised. This is speaking from my own experience, as everyone has their own unique story.

What changed my mental health is when I started working with energy. All of us are unique, and a one fit for all doesn't work. Your healing is unique. Just as your exercise routine is unique. Your nutritional routine is unique. Yes.........water is good for all. Yes........walking is good for all. Those as basic strategies that most people use to help with their mental health. Yet, what happens after you've tried it all & you're still crashing.

The reality is mental health changes occur, in my belief, when your environment changes. Whether it's work or home. Those changes don't occur over night. They won't come easy. Typically, you are stagnant. your body. your mind. your soul. stagnant and it's crying out to you for change.

Medical help is priority. Yet so is spiritual help. Physical help. etc. What people decide to do to heal is a personal choice, and sometimes is outside the "norm". That is why energy work, breath work, cold water therapy, nature therapy, tarot psychology is part of my regiment to stay well.

My wish is clients can find what works for them. A modality that aligns with what they want & need in their life. A modality that makes them feel safe & heard. Do I think there is ONE right way? NOPE. I do think companies need to look at how they run their business. I do think education systems need to look at how they run their schools. I do think society needs to look at their pace in life. Change won't come over night, but change will come once more & more of us advocate and speak up for what is best for our mental wellness.

I do not have shame with that fact I have PTSD, compassion fatigue, burn out. I see myself as strong. I see myself as an advocate. I'm ready to use my voice for change. Are you?

Blessings. xo
